No Online Sales Yet? - Want to know why?

Probably the main reason a new Internet Marketer isn't making any sales is because of a lack of overall plan and the understanding that it takes a process to get there. There are many processes or routes to online sales and no one of these is the only one or the only right one!

Here is a sample of one process to successful sales, proven to be workable over and over again.

1. Establish a web presence – website or blog.
2. Get a domain name for it and have it hosted on a server.
3. Go to a website like Clickbank and get signed up as an affiliate with a hot selling product - one you like.
4. Ensure your website has a landing or squeeze page so you can begin to collect names and build your list.
5. Write some articles and post them on the internet so you start to get some traffic.
6. Make sure your articles have a link back to your blog or website.
7. Get an auto-responder, watch some tutorials until you figure out how to use it and start sending emails to your growing list.
8. Get your first of many sales!

Now you must admit this is a simple and inexpensive process but if any of the above steps are missing – it won't work! And don't expect this to happen overnight. It may take you several weeks to do the above steps if you are doing it part time. I know we are all looking for instant gratification these days but that is a false hope and doesn't lead to wealth.

Just think of all the techniques I HAVEN'T mentioned! PPO, CPA, Joint ventures, Social Media, Keyword Research, Publishing E-books, etc, etc.

You see, a problem with beginners is they hear about all these more advanced techniques and believe they have to know it all before they can start. This would be like a trainee pilot needing to know instrument flying, night flying, navigation, aerobatics, formation flying, etc. before taking his first 10 minute solo flight! He'd never get off the ground.

The newbie is probably being bombarded daily with emails and sales videos from various gurus determined to sell them something at a time when their understanding is at a minimum and their hopes on a high! Kind of like a wide-eyed virgin walking into a military brothel! What this results in is LACK of FOCUS! It's easy to spend the bulk of your computer time reading your emails or worse, browsing around on Facebook. But does that get you any sales? Probably not. The way to get the sales flowing is to work on developing and improving your own site without spending too much time on other peoples (getting sales for them!)

By all means get some help and advice. Find a good teacher/mentor and stick with him. Develop a plan or follow his and start unsubscribing to the other 8 or 10 gurus who have you on their auto-responder and are going to hound you until you buy! You can't follow them all because they are all recommending different programs and you will be tempted to cherry pick what you think is the best from each of them and this will guarantee your failure!

The gurus love to promise you the “Internet Lifestyle” and brag about all the vacations they are taking. You could easily get the idea they do it all from the beach on some exotic island. The truth is more likely that they have been working on the internet HARD for quite a few years before they were successful and now they have an office and at least half a dozen staff helping them make their millions. Please don't buy into their fantasy world. I'm sorry to have to remind you but if you want the money you have to do the work!

Find a simple workable plan and FOCUS on it and you will do fine. Jump all over the place chasing the latest hot idea and you will get nowhere. Believe me – I tried it!
